The ISU is your final culminating project for this course, and represents your development through the preceding units of study. * A five-paragraph research essay, of at least 1500 words, in which you will propose an original thesis, on some aspect of this authors life and/or work.
* An oral presentation, 10-12 minutes in length, for which you will BECOME your author, providing a historical background/context for yourself, discussion of major works, influences and literary/historical legacy.
Phase 1- Proposal- DUE: Wednesday, February 8th
The first phase of your ISU requires that you (1) choose your author, (2) compose a question or questions that you would like to make regarding this author and/or their works, and (3) compose your initial thesis statement, in answer to the question(s). You will then choose three important points to support your thesis, to be developed in your three following body paragraphs.
Your proposal must be composed in paragraph form, typed, size 12 font, double-spaced, and submitted on the above delinquent date.
Once your instructor has reviewed the proposal, you will meet with them to discuss your proposal.
