Purpose of the Portfolio Project
1. Bring to consciousness and reflect upon our beliefs well-nigh diversity, disability and ability.
2. Look carefully at how cultural images organise our beliefs and interactions.
3. Come to know diversity in new ways.

The research that went into development of Affirming Values and Positive Images and devalued Roles and Negative Images described on the following page specifically addresses people with disabilities. Nonetheless, these values, roles, and images are relevant to all people. Therefore, in this degree we will apply these values, roles, and images to a broader definition of diversity, whether it is strong-arm or mental disability, learning difference, or differences of culture, race, ethnicity, religious belief, or class.
