Instinct is an example, but consciousness tells us that anything different is inherently dangerous, and it is because of this that humans seem to naturally be drawn toward racism and prejudice. Logical thought can bring down our instinctive knowledge and prove it to be false, so it seems our instinct cannot be trusted on any meaningful level.
