Marge Piercy wrote the numbers, Barbie Doll, to express how she felt about order marginss and the stress that nightclub places on physical appearance. The first stanza continues to dismantle the toys that the myopic girl was devoted to trifle, she was given, miniature GE stoves and press and wee lipsticks the color of cheery candy (line 4).
